We develop processes, tools and products in order to implement new ways of learning.

At SGM we are all digital natives – we understand technology, we love people, books and music, we do sports and love life and and truly believe in life-long learning. Through our roots at the Technical University of Berlin and our various positions within the Fraunhofer society, we have a valuable, active and highly appreciated network to the “best-of-breed” researchers and institutions around the globe.

While we reconsider smart learning solutions and investigate about how to virtualise and integrate those into business environments, we develop next generation learning formats. This comprises, especially, new media formats plus thoughts and principles on dealing with IPR and new (disruptive) learning contexts.

The acquisition of skills and on-demand know-how will increasingly shape our digital tomorrow, supporting mobile and ambient learning solutions. This imposes new ways of software engineering and deployment of learning technology. Additionally, new paradigms like augmented reality provide the opportunity to put learning solutions into real-life scenarios. We are already making successful use of these technologies.

In LISA, requirements for sensor-based learning analytics technologies are defined from didactical, content-related, methodological, technical end ethical perspectives. Based on these, LISA designs, implements and evaluates learning analytics methods for supporting self-directed learning in sensor-based environments.
